Save Files: Where They Are and How to Start Over

Updated 2026-08-28

On this page

TRADESMAN keeps your saves on disk, and a few players have wanted to start a fresh run without losing their old one. Here's the official location and the safe reset method.

Save file location (Windows)

The developer confirmed the exact path:

C:\Users\YOUR_PC_NAME\AppData\Local\Tradesman

Fastest way to open it: press Win + R, type %Appdata%, and hit Enter. Then go up one folder to AppData\Local\Tradesman.

(Note: %Appdata% opens AppData\Roaming — you need to go up to AppData then into Local.)

How to start a fresh save safely

A player who wanted to restart without deleting their old run found the working method:

  1. Back up first: copy your entire Tradesman folder somewhere safe.
  2. Deactivate Steam Cloud Save for TRADESMAN:
    • Right-click the game in Steam → Properties → uncheck "Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud."
  3. Delete the files in the AppData\Local\Tradesman folder.
  4. Start the game — a fresh save is created.
  5. To restore your old run later, re-enable cloud save and copy your backup back.

The developer added there's also a way to do this from the main menu, but the manual method above is the community-verified approach.

Why cloud saves can surprise you

If you delete local files but leave cloud saves on, Steam will re-sync the old save from the cloud — making it look like the reset didn't work. That's why disabling cloud save first is the critical step.
